Howdy there, I’m Prabhu, and I attend Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. My interests are photography and film-watching, two mediums that let me investigate narrative from many angles. While film immerses viewers in narratives that provoke a wide spectrum of emotions, photography captures brief moments and frequently expresses strong emotions in a single frame. The relationship between various artistic mediums stimulates my imagination and motivates me to investigate how images can convey difficult concepts.

New Hollywood had a profound impact on me because it demonstrated the power of narrative beyond traditional, formulaic films. Growing up watching popular movies, I was accustomed to clear-cut protagonists, happy endings, and predictable plotlines. However, when I discovered films from the New Hollywood era, they introduced me to a different side of filmmaking—one that was not hesitant to explore flawed characters, ambiguous endings, and societal critiques.
